IN THE LIGHT OF RESOURCES HACI BEKTAŞ VELI - SARI SALTIK GAZİ RELATIONS

This study includes the relations and common characteristics of Hacı Bektaş Velî and Sarı Saltık Gazi. Hacı Bektaş Velî and Sarı Saltık Gazi were raised with the teachings of Ahmed Yesevî and they were the defender and teacher of this teaching throughout their lives. Ahmed Yesevî was a scholar who lived in Turkistan and the northern Khwarezm region. According to rumors, he had tens of thousands of students. It is likely that Hacı Bektaş Velî and Sarı Saltık Gazi were educated in the same discipline under his different caliphs. Hacı Bektaş Velî is considered a spiritual leader and architect of belief in Anatolia, while Sarı Saltık Gazi is known as a leader and spiritual figure in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Therefore, they are two important leaders that Turkish people have known closely for centuries. The lives, personalities, and activities of Hacı Bektaş Velî and Sarı Saltık Gazi are described in many sources. When the narratives are taken into consideration, it is seen that these two important personalities have many common features and close ties with each other. However, the fact the narratives mostly based on rumors cast doubt on the accuracy of their relationships between them. Nevertheless, from the available information, it is understood that both lived in the same years, continued the path of Ahmed Yesevî, knew each other, met, and acted together. The positive effects of Hacı Bektaş Velî and Sarı Saltık Gazi, who were based on goodness, righteousness, rationality, beauty and peace and who set an example to the world with these aspects, started from the 13th century and continued until today. All available sources on both personalities and their close relations have been scanned by us. All sources have been evaluated and accurate information has been tried to be presented.
